Barcelona FC model for AFC United

It began in 2007 with a handful of 9-year-olds who did not feel right at home in his former club.

Athletic FC was born.
The trio chose to do it in their own way, with the big clubs in Europe as a model. Therefore visited the clubs Leicester, Juventus and Barcelona to see and learn. Especially Barcelona impressed Alex Ryssholm.
- I was there on three separate occasions over three years. When I saw Xavi and Iniesta picking pieces of tape and throw in the trash at the training ground, I realized that all the club's managers told about the common value was true. Even the big players take responsibility for the whole club. So we wanted to build our club.

From the Division 7 advanced Athletic FC to Division 3 in 2011. The team was set to play in Division 3rd
Then phoned Alex Ryssholm phone. It was the then President of Vasby United in Division 1, residents in Upplands Väsby. The club had financial problems and stretched out a hand to Athletic FC on a collaboration. Athletic FC was offered to play two classes higher. The condition was that Athletic FC took over Vasby United's debts. Alex Ryssholm accepted the conditions and paid the debts out of their own pocket.
- The call came as late as the beginning of January and it was both daunting and challenging. Scary because we were set to play in Division 3, and would switch to Division 1 in just a few months. Challenging because it ran up the pace to develop the club. We weighed the pros and cons and decided that we would take the chance - tells Alex Ryssholm.

Athletic FC maintained their place in Division 3 and filled with young players from their own ranks. The experienced players played in Division 1. It was not enough. Athletic FC fell out of Division 3 in the first year.
- We were a bit too optimistic. You can not build a team of only young players. We need routine as well. We are learning all the time, explains José Franco.

2013 decided the clubs to join together under the name United AFC (Athletic Football Club United). The new club moved while the entire operation to Solna.
- We told him about our plans to advance to the Premier League for the officers of the municipality of Väsby, but did not think we got any real response. In Solna, however, we had good relationship with the municipality responsible in the past, so it felt natural to move it all home to Solna, says Alex Ryssholm.
2013 was an eventful year. In addition to the merger were recruited coaching duo Özcan Melkemichel and Ivan Ristic. AFC United's business is based entirely on an academy set up.
- For us it is a training to be completed footballer. Therefore, we take just as many young people as we can take responsibility for and educate, and we have only employed and trained coach. That means the current costume that we can have one team in each age group, except for inexperienced activities that are larger.
As we get better economy, and better training areas, we can take care of more young people - says José Franco and explains the meaning of the term "take care of":

- It's not just about football for us. We also have a social responsibility. It is important that young people function in school and with their friends. Our core values ??is that everyone has a right to high-class soccer training, and everyone is on the same level as individuals regardless of the playing standard they have at the moment.
We notice that a player does not work in the group, or school, we connect into an adult as a temporary sponsor. It can be a coach, but it can also be a parent. This arrangement allows only two hundred leaving the compound, the rest stays. The goal is that 70 percent of players in the first team to come from our own ranks once we established ourselves in the Premier League.

Another lesson duo made on their research trips in Europe is that the club business, with players from 20 different nations, requires its own facility.
Alex Ryssholm particularly remember a conversation with Barcelona's methodology Officer 2010:
- When I explained that we hire us at municipal plans, and must plan time based on certain criteria, he exclaimed - "Forget it! You must have your own facility, otherwise it will not! "

Since then, the facility issue has been a priority for the AFC United. At the beginning of the year, they found what they were looking for: A factory in Sollentuna, just north of Stockholm, and next door to a riding stables just outside the villa buildings, would move and AFC United struck.
The factory is now changing slowly but surely transformed into a training facility with private accommodation for players and coaches, houses for visiting teams, offices, gyms, locker rooms, rooms for match briefing, video analysis, chiropractic and rehab and "recreation" with the possibility of doing homework.
Soon I hope the club also be an owner of two artificial turf fields, one outdoor and one indoor - the latter a permanent structure with dimensions of 9-a-side game. The land is just there, waiting outside the office's window.

It is an investment of about 35 million, of which an indoor hall eats up about 30. Add to that the transformation from industrial to träningssanläggning, so will another 30 million including the purchase of land of 35 000 square meters, for a total of about 65 million.
- Sollentuna Municipality is very positive and we hope to get started with construction in early 2015 - and be ready towards the end of the year, at least with outdoor pitch.

We will rent out the plans for other teams when we do not use them. Am Sonntag unterlag AFC in der Pokalgruppe 4 deutlich mit 1:5 gegen Elfsborg, konnte vorher Ligakonkurrent Brommapojkarna aber 1:0 besiegen. Da nur die 8 Gruppensieger ins Achtelfinale einziehen, wird Elfsborg wohl weiterkommen und das letzte Spiel gegen Superettan-Konkurrent Sirius ist eher ein Testspiel vor dem 1.Spieltag gegen Mjällby (04.April).
Ich möchte an dieser Stelle noch darauf hinweisen, das AFC United 2012 mit Väsbi United fusionierte, das wiederum 2005 eine Fusion aus Väsbi IF und FC Café Opera war! Ich glaube es wird also Zeit, das Grobian und Alter_Schwede sich mal der Sache annehmen!

IFK Norrköping ist nach 26 Jahren mal wieder Meister in Schweden. Es ist wohltuend, dass es kein Team aus den großen 3 Städten geschafft hat. Malmö (Meister der beiden letzten Jahre und haushoher Favorit) enttäuschte maßlos und wurde am Ende nur 5.  , passend dazu verlor man heute das letzte Spiel der Saison gegen den neuen Meister mit 0:2.

Mein Team, Halmstads BK, ist nach einer katastrophalen Saison abgestiegen.  Einziger Lichtblick in dieser Saison ist unser Juwel Sead Haksabanovic, der seit diesem Jahr der jüngste Spieler aller Zeiten der Allsvenskan ist.

Beste Spieler der Saison, aus meiner Sicht, waren Emir Kujovic (Torschützenkönig), Viktor Claesson, Arber Zeneli und Linus Wahlqvist.

Norrköping ist krass. War im März in der Friends Arena AIK - Norrköping gucken, da sah das nicht so nach Meisterschaftskampf aus.





War aber Saisonvorbereitung. Nullnummer, schweinekalt, und ein paar Pfiffe am Schluss.  Hätte die Reise noch ein paar Tage verlängern sollen.

Im Schatten der gestrigen Ereignisse, findet heute das Playoff-Hinspiel zwischen Schweden und Dänemark statt.

Eigentlich hatten wir für heute Abend Freunde eingeladen und wollten dann gemeinsam das Spiel schauen, aber nach den Anschlägen von Paris ist uns die Lust darauf vergangen, sodass wir das Spiel nun nur zu zweit gucken werden.

Die Chancen sehe ich bei 45:55 zu Gunsten unseres Nachbarn. Auf ein gutes Spiel...
